New Updated Idea

My first idea went down the drain when my song writer left for holiday but i have a new better idea!
My new idea consists of loads of photos put together to make a video, I'd like to start off with a bin bag filled with rubbish and paper when 2 balls of paper roll out and open up with the slogan 'Wipe Out Waste' writen on it in green pen as the official recycling logo is green, after that has been on the paper for about 3-5 seconds it will change to 'Trees can't fight back'. At the end of the video the paper will be in the recycling with a happy face which changes to the recyling logo.
My music will be upbeat and joyful to keep young people entertained and to make sure they remember. I'd like to use the song Jack Johnson's "3 R's".
I am also going to make a facebook page as facebook will attract people people that maybe dont watch a lot of TV or like me skip through them. This will also add extra infomation on recycling.

Ideas: Things to think about.

  • Happy, joyful, possitive, fast, entertaining.
  • Emotive language.
  • Get to point.
  • How soon to hit them with the reason?
  • Freebe?
  • Facebook page? or other social networks?
  • Include that 'trees can't fight back'
  • Include the slogan 'wipe out waste'

Prepared by:SIMS Recycling Solutions is a recycling company in Melbourne, Australia.  We are canvassing worldwide for a short film to promote recycling for young adults.
1 Background / Overview:
Recycling waste materials provides a real opportunity to put less waste into landfill, but needs everybody’s participation to help sort out waste materials.  Recycled materials can reduce the need for extracting and mining new resources as well as reducing deforestation.  It also provides environmental benefits including less air pollution, energy use, reduced impacts of extracting materials and more efficient use of finite resources.
More people are recycling, but we need still need to improve the amount of materials that are sorted for recycling.  SIMS Recycling Solutions is starting a campaign to encourage young adults to recycle.  We are looking to commission a short film for this group to promote recycling.
2) The purpose of the video
This campaign will be directed at young adults.  Our aim is to use a short film to increase young adult’s emotional attachment to the planet and to recycling.  The video should use personal/interesting stories that show recycling as an aspirational thing for young adults.

Contents of film must be upbeat.  Music can be used, but must either be created by the film company or be copyright free

SIMS Recycling idea

Idea:
I’d like to write a rap or song including recycleing tips and ideas for young people. It will be an upbeat, fun, fast, entertaining song to entertain 16-21 year olds and introduce them to a new healthy way for the enviroment. I’d like to include the tagline “wipe out waste” in the rap and also lines like “Tree’s can’t fight back”. Young people are very interested in music and my advert will attract them and keep them watching for the whole of the advert. I would like to end advertising Sims recycling facebook page as facebook is very popular and may advertise SIMS to other people who may not watch much TV and miss the advert.

Assignment 1
Understanding the Requirement of working to a Brief
Structure of Briefs

Contractual
A contractual brief is a legal binding agreement between two or more people. Contracts mainly written but can be spoken. For a contract to be made there must be an offer and for that offer to be accepted. There must be communication with the person who made the offer. Most briefs can last from 1 month to a year, but can last longer depending on the company.
Some advantages of the contractual brief:
·         Working on a contract can be quite profitable, contract staff gets paid overtime unlike most salaried staff.
·         Contract work has a lot of flexibly compared to other work.
·         Legal proof of an agreement.
Some disadvantages of the contractual brief:
·         Loss of control.
·         Time delays.
·         Loss of flexibility.
·         Loss of quality.
·         Compliance.
Negotiating
A negotiating brief is a contract given on the basis of a direct agreement with a contractor, you may help the client to improve the brief or “push” them in the right direction. Some advantages of the negotiating brief:
·         It limits the number of players to those involved in the dispute.
·         Allows for a focused approach to problem solving.
Some disadvantages of the negotiating brief:
·         If the viewpoints of the parties are too distant then progress is difficult to achieve.
·         It is useful when the requirement is difficult to specify
·         It is relatively inexpensive to undertake
·         It is flexible and not prescriptive

Formal
A formal brief is a brief made legal by following the set design. A meeting could be organised to go over what is essential from the client.

InformalAn informal brief could occur over the phone without even meeting the client or meeting them later on.
Commission
A commission brief is a brief:
·         responsibly agreed upon
·         fixed my custom or law
·         fee accruing to an agent
·         broker
·         salesperson for facilitating
·         initiating
·         executing a commercial transaction
Some advantages of the commission brief:
·         If you work hard you get rewarded.
·         When you need some extra income you can work some extra hours and get paid more.
·         You can usually set your own hours.
Some disadvantages of the commission brief:
·         Income varies month to month.
·         If you don’t sell much you don’t get much money as your get paid on the sales percentage.
TenderA tender brief is sent out to different companies by post or email to get a range of ideas to be considered in competition against the ideas from other dealers.
