LOGO

Researching Logo's

I really like this logo as it's simple but gets the idea across. I really like the way the house outlines the lettering but I don't like how much text there is as looking at the logo you don't want to have to read to much to understand the meaning of the logo.

This logo is really simple again and I prefer the layout of this as it's not to bolky like the logo above although this isn't a a building logo I can still change it and make it my own like I would anyway.

3 Chosen logo's I've designed after research

I personally feel this is my favourite of each logo but my client may not think this.

I'm going to give my client a choice of three that I feel are the strongest as I'd like my client to be involved with the process to make sure that they're happy with the final projects. My client may want to change some of my designs to suit them which I am happy and open to. I used photoshop to design these as I feel confident and know this programme well.

Interview

I’ve asked my client a few questions to help me improve the logo’s and for him to choose a final logo to go on the rest of the stationary.
Out of the logo’s I’ve showed you which is your favourite?
It’s defiantly the first one!
Is there anything you would want me to change?
As good as it is I like the way the “Hollis” is bold on the second logo as it stands out so if that was on the first one it would be great!
How do you feel about the colours?
I really like the colours – they work very well together, you can defiantly see who the artist is out of us!
What about the font?
It’s a very strong bold font and works well with the logo so once the “Hollis” is bold it will be perfect.
The imagery is very basic, what do you think about that?
It’s great very effective as it’s so simple and remember able.
That’s great I’ll get to work on making the “Hollis” bold!
Thank you very much.

Editing my logo

After speaking to my client I went back and edited the logo to suit his preference so it suits him.

I am also a lot happier with this logo and think it looks a lot more professional  than the first draft.

BUSINESS CARD

Researching Business Cards

I like the effect of the photo or picture for a background but I don't want to distract the viewer to much from the text which is the purpose of the business card.

These business cards look really professional and perfect quality. I like the idea of a strip at the top or bottom of the business card as the infomation is really obvious yet the business card isn't boring.

I chose these business cards as I really like the idea of the strip but I wanted it a bit more intresting as my client would prefere it.

Interview

I’ve asked my client a few questions to help me improve the business card and for him to choose a final business card.
Out of the business cards I’ve showed you which is your favourite?
Although the first and third business card are both strong I think I’ll have to go with the first one again as I like the pattern and find it interesting, bold and strong which is what I wanted – well now I’ve seen the business card I’ve decided that’s what I wanted, I don’t want to take the credit for the business card (laughs).
Is there anything you would want me to change?
I know it would be helpful for me to say yes and give you a list of stuff to improve but there really isn’t anything I’d change, I’m very proud of it.
How do you feel about the colours?
I’m going to have to repeat myself from last time, I really like the colours and again they work very well together.
What about the font?
Again I really like the font as it’s simple and bold at the same time, I really like the way my name and title are bold – although I bet they’re all like that.
You could say that, the imagery is very basic, what do you think about that?
It’s very good as I wouldn’t want anything to distract them from me! (laughs) You know what I mean.
That’s great; I’d better get to work on your letter head then.
Thankyou, I feel so powerful.

Letter head

Researching letter heads

This is a really nice letter head as it's simple yet it still has enough detail on it to be remembered by the viewer and it still looks very smart.

I personally don't feel this letter head is very smart and although I'm a big pink fan I don't feel it's the right coloour for a letter head and may take the focus away.

This letter head has a lot of infomation on but because of the layout you wouldn't really think about it like that - I don't really like the colours together but I'll be using my client's chosen colours anyway.

 Chosen three letter heads

Questionnaire

I’ve asked my client a few questions to help me improve the letter heads and for him to choose a final letter head and finalise the final products.
Out of the letter heads I’ve showed you which is your favourite?
Wow they’re very good! It must have been hard to design 3 different letterheads after getting the design and logo from the business card but you’ve done very well! It’s very hard to choose one! Which one do you think?
Oh no I was hoping you wouldn’t ask that! Well the second one would be good as you can then place the address of your client in the top left corner as there’s nothing there but the first and third fill the space well.
Yes I see what you mean, I think I will probably go with, oh this is where I have to choose. This is hard.
Would you like to leave you with the letter heads and come back tomorrow and get your final choice.
Yes that would be very helpful thankyou for all your help.
NEXT DAY
Which one did you decide in the end?
I’ve gone with the third one as it uses the space well and I don’t really put my clients address on my quotes or letters although the second one is very nice
Is there anything you would want me to change?
No it’s perfect.
How do you feel about the colours?
I’m going to have to repeat myself from last time, I really like the colours and again they work very well together.
The imagery is very basic, what do you think about that?
It’s very good.
That’s great I’ll finalise and get everything back to you.
Thankyou for all of your help.
